Oceanico Old Course

About

A wonderful 6254 metres, par-73 beauty was designed by the famous Frank Pennick. The Oceânico Old Course is perhaps one of the most renowned courses in Portugal. Just 20 minutes away from the Faro Airport, the spectacular course features firm and rolling fairways that makes playing the game very difficult.

Combined with plenty of dogleg holes, players are required to plan their shots well ahead before the execution. Though there are few water hazards on the course, the undulating terrain and tall tree lines cause high scoring around here.

Golfers can also enjoy a post-round meal or drink at the lovely clubhouse. Also players may work on their game on the lush putting green or the beautiful driving range. Nonetheless the Oceânico Old course provides a true challenge to the experienced golfers and those who manage to conquer it will be rewarded greatly with a sense of excitement.

        "A well-organized, highly recommend"

Tree lined lush fairways with excellent greens and real sand in bunkers. If your not straight it can beat you up quite bad but you will get a lucky break here and there. If I need to compare Oceanico Golf Courses, I liked most playing Old Course golf.

Pro Comment: The challenge starts right on the first, with a short PAR 4 where a long and accurate drive shot will make the difference. The big canopy trees are always to be considered as they may cost you a rescue shot to the middle of the fairway. Some of the tee boxes are positioned in such a way that a straight shot can see less than half the fairway but that a gentle fade or draw suddenly opens up the course
