Opened in 1974, the Quinta do Lago South Golf Course is preferred by many Tour Players around the world. The reason is simple; there are many ways to conquer this course and players could fine-tune their skills by challenging themselves with different tasks.
The long-hitters could bomb their tee shots around the course and play the course in a completely different way than the designer intended it to be played. Those who favour accuracy must pick a spot on the fairway and land it precisely at the spot. There is little room for error.
The course is unique in a way that the front nine favours a draw and the back nine favours a fade. It puts a player’s skills to test and those who fail would not be able to produce any under-par rounds here. Nonetheless, good technique is still required to score here. Golfers at high level would see this as a challenge whilst less-experienced players would still enjoy the course.
Well the Quinta Do Lago golf staff are very friendly ,helpful and always welcome you with a smile ,,the course has to be one of the best I've ever seen and played ,,,not one bad hole stunning greens great fairways and tees ,,it really is a must play
I played Quinta Do Lago South course with my two friends. We all enjoyed the day and wished we had our own clubs. We felt we could play some really good golf, but errant shots from unfamiliar clubs got us a bit. But anyway, I liked results in my Quinta do Lago South scorecard.

|Pro Comment: Quinta do Lago South was until the renovation of the sister course the undisputed #1 on Quinta. The history of this course is not only about the 15th PAR 3 one of the most photographed holes in Portugal; but equally memorable are the isolated PAR 5 5th, the 8th sprawling for a cool 385mts , 9th , 10th or the toughest PAR 4 and 14th with elevated tee box and from tee to pin a 380mts all in front of you.|
